The story of Love, Death and Guilt.
One thing which breaks the Human is betrayal. Imagine you're getting betrayed by your love. A person who loves you the most, who cares you a lot, who always protects you, and suddenly that person becomes the reason of your death. The pain of betrayal is more than the pain of death.
The story is about betrayal, and how that guilt of betraying your own love makes you become a Grim ripper. Yoo Do-Hyuk who is the commander in the kingdom loves the girl named Han So-Hee. Han So-Hee is a simple and emotional girl, who hates lie, she is afraid of fight and blood. On the night of new year when the town was full of lights, she met Yoo Do-Hyuk to confess her feelings for him. Her feelings towards him were pure. She always takes care of his food and basic necessities.

Yoo Do-Hyuk lost his family when he was child. His father was the commander. So, the king take care of him. He raised him as his own child. When Do-Hyuk become the commander he left the palace and started living in town. Where he met Han So-Hee. So-Hee's caring nature attracted him towards her. Time by time the feelings between them become mutual and developed. The king was afraid of the attack of lust demons in short future. Shamans of the town warned king about lust demons and asked for help to protect the town. King immediately called Do-Hyuk and command him to stay in the palace and take extra training for fight against the lust demons. Because of his training Do-Hyuk couldn't meet So-Hee for long time. King and the shamans were already trying to find a way to stop the attack of lust demons. They found a way of this difficulty.
Han So-Hee was born on an auspicious full moon. The shaman suggested to offer her sacrifice on next full moon for prevent this difficulty. Do-Hyuk was unaware of this sacrifice. On the full moon shamans were ready to perform the ritual. Do-Hyuk was also there when the guard bring So-Hee to ritual stage. He was shocked seeing her there. When Do-Hyuk looked into her eyes there was sorrow and the pain of not having a future with him. Do-Hyuk asked king to stop this ritual, but the kind denied. He said that all of the lives of town are more important than one life. King ordered the guards to stop Do-hyuk from entering the ritual stage. When the king was about to kill So-Hee with his sward Do-Hyuk run towards the king to stop him. Seeing him coming towards him the king pushed So-Hee in front of Do-Hyuk and accidently So-Hee got stabbed by Do-Hyuk. Han So-Hee got killed by her love. A person who loves her the most and cares about her become the reason of her death. The pain of getting killed by her love was more than the pain of death.
Do-Hyuk killed himself at the same stage. Human life is the most precious gift given by God. When a person takes its own life, they get the punishment, and the punishments is that person has to live another life as a Grim Ripper. Yoo Do-Hyuk living his life as a Grim Ripper in the guilt of killing So-Hee. He lost all his human emotions except guilt. There's no joy, peace, emotions left in his life. When a person becomes the grim ripper god erases the memory of the past life. but in his case god did not remove his memory. It's easy to live when you don't know such things, but it becomes the biggest punishment when you have to live with memories. There was the harsh memory of killing his love but there were some warm and happy memories which give him strength to pass his years. He passed hundreds of years waiting for the reincarnation of Han So-Hee.
